2 injured after car slams into front porch of home in Philadelphia’s Parkside section

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Two people were injured when a car crashed into the front porch of a house in Philadelphia’s Parkside neighborhood.

It happened on the 5100 block of Wyalusing Avenue just before 11:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Authorities say a 21-year-old woman lost control of her vehicle and hit the porch.

She is in serious condition with a broken leg.

A 19-year-old passenger is stable with an ankle injury.

Police say five people, including four young children, were inside the home at the time of the crash and were able to safely evacuate.

City inspectors are working to determine if there has been any structural damage to the home.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
