PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — SEPTA wants to revamp its bus system, and has a plan in place to make it happen.
This plan is being called the “New Bus Network.” It was formerly known as the “Bus Revolution.”
The goal of the redesign is to make the bus network more efficient, more reliable, and easier to navigate.
The plan adds service, including two new routes and new late-night and weekend trips.
SEPTA does plan on cutting redundant routes and those with low ridership.
The plan isn’t approved yet. There is an additional hearing on April 15th, and it will go before the board for approval in May.
Changes to the bus network would roll out in stages, starting in August and with additional changes throughout 2027.
