Red panda at Philadelphia Zoo dies

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Khumbie the red panda, a resident at the Philadelphia Zoo, has died.

Khumbie was diagnosed with cancer during his annual exam.

Zoo staff had to make the difficult decision to humanely euthanize him.

Khumbie was 11 years old.

He had been a part of the zoo for more than ten years.
