And suddenly, Ed’s “End Game” lyric: “Something was born on the Fourth of July” all makes sense, with his and Cherry’s romance also referenced earlier in the verse, where Ed sings: “Knew her when I was young / Reconnected when we were a little bit older.”
Taylor later surprised Ed and Cherry by marking their first anniversary at her 2016 Fourth of July party, and the happy couple ended up getting married in 2019 before welcoming two daughters together.
