Investigators say Capobianco used a borough-issued gas card to fill up personal vehicles, totaling an estimated $2,500 worth of fuel.
According to charging documents, Capobianco admitted to using the card for personal use and told detectives he knew he was not authorized to do so.
Parkside Borough Council members unanimously accepted his resignation during a special meeting Wednesday night.
