LOS ANGELES — Disneynature just released a trailer for their latest film to kick off Earth Month titled, “Orangutan,” narrated by Josh Gad. It spotlights an inquisitive adolescent orangutan Indah as she leaves her nest for the first time and goes on an extraordinary journey to find courage, family, and a sense of belonging.
Directed by Mark Linfield and co-directed by Vanessa Berlowitz, audiences are welcomed into the islands of Borneo and Sumatra with an up-close look into the exhilarating action and heartwarming encounters of a community full of orangutans.
The film’s global release on Earth Day, April 22 on Disney+ is a part of The Walt Disney Company’s Earth Month festivities which invite audiences to explore the wonders around them. “Step into Wonder” is a campaign that builds on Disney’s decades long commitment to protecting and sharing the wonders of nature through entertainment, education, and impact driven action to protect our planet.
In celebration of “Orangutan” the Disney Conservation Fund is supporting Wildlife Asia and their partner Leuser Conservation Fund to protect Sumatran orangutan’s, elephants, and tigers across more than 5 million acres of forest habitat.
“Orangutan” premieres April 22 on Disney+.
