The world is buzzing about the new “The Devil Wears Prada” movie coming out next month.

And while the devil does wear Prada, apparently it also eats hoagies and says “wooder.”

There’s a familial connection that nobody saw coming.

In the hit movie, Meryl Streep plays a character who’s long-believed to be based on the former editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine, Anna Wintour.

Turns out, the two have more in common than we thought.

“Ancestry” recently found something groundbreaking in their family trees

“So, they share a common set of great-great-great-great-great-grandparents. Thomas Smith and Elizabeth Kinsey, and so they’re their 5th-grade grandparents, which makes them six cousins, and we found that they both have really deep Pennsylvania roots,” said Jennifer Utley, a Family historian at Ancestry.

Utley says the fifth great-grandparents of both Streep and Wintour resided in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, in the late 1700s.

“Some people would think, ‘Oh, aren’t we all related eventually?’ Well, that’s true if you’re going back to, like, 11th cousins, but to have something this close in, as close as six cousins, is really remarkable,” said Utley.

And that’s not the only Pennsylvania tie with the movie.

Lauren Weisberger, author of the “The Devil Wears Prada” book, which the movie is based on, grew up in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

The 20th Century Studios film “The Devil Wears Prada 2” premieres in theaters on May 1.

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of 20th Century Studios and this ABC station.
