250 years ago, the Declaration of Independence was signed in Philadelphia, creating a new nation. But Philadelphia’s history begins well before the events at Independence Hall.
History Making Productions is telling that story and showing how the birth and development of Philadelphia mirrors that of the United States.
In Pursuit – Philadelphia and the Making of America is a 10-part documentary spanning from the arrival of the first colonists to the land inhabited by the Lenni Lenape through to the 21st Century. Episodes will be released throughout the year, beginning with Episode 1 – Freedom.
As each full episode is released, 6abc will broadcast a companion program called 6abc In Pursuit of Philadelphia History.
