Emergency construction set to begin on severe beach erosion in North Wildwood

NORTH WILDWOOD, NJ (WPVI) — Emergency construction is set to begin to repair severe beach erosion in North Wildwood.

Officials say the city is at imminent risk of a dune breach along with damage to the city’s infrastructure.

Construction on a new bulkhead will begin this week, and should be completed before Memorial Day.

City leaders say recent storms and tidal events have played a major role in the problem.
