Arrest made in woman’s stabbing death in West Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — An arrest has been made in the stabbing of a woman in her West Philadelphia home.

Police have now arrested 43-year-old James Street Jr. in connection with the death of 46-year-old Tyhesia Street.

A family member called police for help on Sunday, saying Tyhesia had not been seen in weeks.

Officers discovered her body in a bedroom of her home on the 5500 block of West Girard Avenue.

She had suffered multiple stab wounds.

Loved ones of Tyhesia Street were set to hold a vigil on Wednesday night to remember her life.
