New Jersey lifts nuclear power moratorium

Lower Alloways Creek, N.J. (WPVI) — New Jersey governor Mikie Sherrill signed legislation that lifts a 40-year nuclear moratorium in the Garden State.

She signed the bill at the Salem Nuclear Power Plant Wednesday.

She also launched a nuclear task force.

The legislation advances the state’s pursuit of new nuclear energy, while lowering energy costs for New Jerseyans.
