PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Downed wires caused trains running between Philadelphia and New York to be canceled or delayed.
Officials say overhead wires came down on an NJ Transit train near Newark Penn Station around 7 a.m. Monday.
Then, two hours later, a second NJ Transit train near North Elizabeth lost power when part of the overhead infrastructure came down.
About 300 passengers had to be evacuated.
NJ Transit says it is working with Amtrak to address the issue.
