Pickup truck pulled from Delaware River in Penn’s Landing

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A pickup truck driver is in stable condition after plunging into the Delaware River in the Penn’s Landing section of Philadelphia.

It happened around 3:20 p.m. Tuesday along the 100 block of Delaware Avenue near the Race Street Pier.

Police say a 47-year-old man was driving at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his 2021 blue Dodge Ram and went into the water.

Chopper 6 was overhead as the pickup was lifted out of the river. The vehicle had heavy front-end damage.

Police say the driver was able to escape. He was treated for neck pain at an area hospital.
