Seal rescued from roadway in Ocean County, New Jersey

HARVEY CEDARS, N.J. (WPVI) — The Marine Mammal Stranding Center rescued a grey seal pup in Ocean County on Tuesday.

Harvey Cedars Police found the female seal in the middle of Long Beach Boulevard, before she made her way to Middlesex Avenue.

Officers closed the road as the seal napped in the middle of the street.

The rescue team then collected the pup and took her to an animal hospital for treatment.

She wasn’t hurt, but was in thin overall body condition.

Rescuers said she was resting comfortably after her adventure.
