Franklin Mall closed after fire-related incident

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Franklin Mall in Northeast Philadelphia is set to reopen Friday after a fire forced the shopping center to close abruptly last weekend.

The mall – formerly known as Franklin Mills – was shut down by the Fire Department and the Department of Licenses and Inspections following a small fire on Saturday.

L&I reinspected the building on Thursday and deemed it safe to reopen.

Mall officials say repairs are still underway in the affected areas, but several stores, including Walmart, Marshalls and HomeGoods, along with Dave & Buster’s, will remain open.
