The Rhode founder pointed out that the chance of an early delivery was “our bigger scare” given her medical history and the fact her mom Kennya Baldwin experienced two pre-term labors with her and sister Alaia Baldwin, 33.

“I was convinced I was going to go into labor early because of my mom’s history…but my body had its own plan,” Hailey said, noting that she ultimately took a PreTRM test, which determined the risk of her delivering Jack before 37 weeks. “Because we realized as the baby was growing, the septum, it was expanding. Everything was opening and doing what it needed to do, luckily.”

And despite the scary circumstances around her first pregnancy, Hailey was cool, calm and collected about the journey.

As Dr. Aliabadi put it, “I never forget, as I was telling her, ‘Well, these are the risks,’ she looked at me. She’s like, ‘You know what? I believe that everything’s gonna work out fine.’ And I looked at her, and I’m like, ‘I think so too.’”
