Councilmember Mark Squilla on Thursday introduced an ordinance that would ban windshield barnacles from being placed on cars parked in private lots.

The exception would be for vehicles with parking violations issued by police or another law enforcement agency.

In December, Action News reported several complaints from drivers who found barnacles placed on their windshields in Northern Liberties and other parts of the city.

The bill now moves to committee for further consideration.
