ABINGTON, Pa. (WPVI) — A proud tradition continued at Abington Middle School on Monday.
Students and teachers took part in the 9th annual Buddy Walk to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day.
The walk brings together differently abled students and their general education peers to promote inclusion, friendship, and school spirit.
Students in the middle school’s Buddies Club spend quality time together participating in after-school activities, ranging from arts and crafts to learning a dance routine.
World Down Syndrome Day is marked each year on March 21.
The global initiative was created to promote inclusion for all students, especially those with intellectual disabilities.
