MT. HOLLY, N.J. (WPVI) — Four people were hospitalized after an ambulance crashed into a home in Burlington County on Thursday.
It happened around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday on the 900 block of Woodlane Road in Mt. Holly.
The view from Chopper 6 shows a portion of a TriCare Medical Transportation ambulance wedged inside the front of the residence.
Police say the ambulance was taking a non-emergency patient to a facility when it struck a parked van on Woodlane Road.
The four injured include one person inside the home, the ambulance driver, an EMT and the patient inside the ambulance, according to Mount Holly Township Police Chief Clifford Spencer.
All injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
Emily Savada says she heard the loud boom and instantly ran over to help as first responders arrived.
“It was enough to go, ‘What the heck just happened?’ Very loud, very scary,” she recalled.
Chief Spencer says there are no signs of criminal activity at this time.
“The safety of our patients, employees, and the community is our highest priority. We are fully cooperating with local law enforcement and other relevant agencies as they investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident. A full internal review is also underway,” TriCare Medical Transportation said in a statement.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
