PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Philadelphia police are investigating an armored truck robbery in the Holmesburg section of the city.
It happened just after 12 p.m. Wednesday outside a Dollar General at Frankford Avenue and Ashburner Street.
Police say three suspects robbed a Brinks truck of about $3,000 and took the driver’s gun.
An image obtained by Action News shows three masked men wearing gloves standing behind the truck. One of them can be seen holding a weapon.

The man who took the photo says it took a minute before he realized he was watching an armed robbery in the middle of the day.
“I look up and seen three guys pulling around over here, and then they spread out in a line. I thought, ‘That’s weird,'” recalled another witness.
No injuries have been reported.
The suspects were last seen fleeing in a silver Honda Accord.
“They got in the car and drove out. Very calm. That’s why I think they were kind of pros. They didn’t speed away. They just got in the car and drove out,” a witness said.
This is at least the third armored truck robbery in the last two weeks in our area.
Sources tell Action News that on June 21, suspects stole $1.5 million in Port Richmond.
On June 26, an armored truck was robbed outside the Aldi store on the 5200 block of Whitaker Avenue in Summerdale.
And earlier in June, robbers got away with $300,000 in Queens, New York.
In May, an undetermined amount was taken in New Castle, Delaware.
There is no word if these are all connected, but people in this area are wondering.
