WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, New Jersey (WPVI) — This morning, dozens of children gathered to make a difference in the Washington Township community.
It was all part of the annual “Helping Hands Hoagie Sale” ahead of the big game tonight.
Their $10 sandwiches will raise money that they will give to people experiencing illness in Washington Township.
“Just knowing that their town is supporting them and that everybody’s coming out and doing this for them… I think that just means the world to some of these families who are really struggling,” said participant Theresa Saponara.
“Any time you can get middle school kids to be here to do something special for somebody else and think of themselves last, that’s an amazing thing. It’s important that we serve others and it’s important that we give back because that’s why we’re here,” said participant Mike D’Ostilio.
