Ice-covered car finally towed away after water main break

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — The car that was seen encased in ice last week in Philadelphia’s Fishtown neighborhood was towed away on Monday.

Video from Byer & Sons Towing shows the vehicle being removed.

Some of the ice had to be chipped away before it was towed from the 1000 block of North Front Street.

Tianna Graham told Action News that her 2016 Honda Civic was parked near the site of a 6-inch water main break reported last Wednesday. It was stuck behind caution tape while crews worked in the area.

When she returned the next day, she was stunned by what she found.

“I was definitely in shock,” Graham said.

Crews have since repaired the water main.

The condition of Graham’s vehicle wasn’t immediately known.
