ABINGTON TWP., Pa. (WPVI) — Two home burglaries have investigators in Montgomery County looking into a possible connection.

They both happened in the Rydal section of Abington Township.

The first incident occurred on January 17 at 8 p.m. on the 900 block of Meetinghouse Road.

Abington police say a suspect tried to get into the home through a basement window and rear door, but was unsuccessful.

Around 7 p.m. the following day, a burglar broke into a home on the 700 block of Washington Lane through a basement window.

Officials say several items were taken from inside before the suspect fled through a rear door.

Because of the similarities and proximity of the two burglaries, police are looking into whether they are both connected.

Police are reminding residents to keep their doors locked, their homes well-lit, and be alert for suspicious people or vehicles in their neighborhood.
