Lil Jon and his loved ones are getting some answers after the tragic death of his son Nathan Smith.
After the rapper’s son, also known by the moniker DJ Young Slade, was reported missing in Georgia on Feb. 3 and found dead three days later outside his family’s home, the Fulton County Medical Examiner has issued his cause of death.
According to an autopsy report obtained by E! News, the rapper’s death was caused by “drowning in the setting of psilocybin use,” with the document also confirming that Smith’s blood had tested positive for “a pharmacologically active hallucinogenic compound of psilocybin—hallucinogenic mushrooms.”
The report also confirms that Smith, who was just 27, had been recovered in a water retention pond, also noting there was water-immersion wrinkling in his hands.
E! News reached out to the Fulton County Medical Examiner for comment but has not heard back.
Lil Jon’s son was first reported missing on Feb. 3 by the Milton Police Department, before his body was found three days later. Following Smith’s death, Lil Jon (real name Jonathan H. Smith) issued a statement on behalf of his family, including wife Nicole Smith.
