Maria Popol Death: Vigil held for 23-year-old woman found dead inside apartment in Telford, Pennsylvania

TELFORD, Pa. (WPVI) — A vigil was held in Bucks County over the weekend to honor 23-year-old Maria Popol.

The immigrant from Guatemala was found dead inside apartment in Telford, Pennsylvania on March 15, about a week after being reported missing.

Authorities have ruled her death a homicide.

Friends of Popol believe it was domestic violence situation.

Community members gathered yesterday near the scene to remember her life.

Investigators have not released details about how she died or identified a suspect.

Family members say they were unfamiliar with her boyfriend and have been unable to contact him.
