RADNOR TWP., Pa. (WPVI) — A 43-year-old teacher’s aide was arrested outside Radnor Middle School on Thursday morning on charges stemming from an alleged aggravated sexual assault of a minor in Texas.
U.S. Marshals took Michael Robinson into custody around 7:30 a.m. as he arrived for work, catching him by surprise across the street from the school where he’s employed as a paraprofessional.
Robinson was wanted in connection with an incident that investigators say occurred in August 2024.
According to Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal Robert Clark, “It’s alleged that in August of 2024, he traveled to Tyler, Texas, after meeting a female he met online, had relations with her over the weekend, then traveled back to Pennsylvania.”
Authorities said the victim was a young teenager and that Robinson was indicted by a grand jury in Smith County, Texas, in December 2025.
Clark said the case took time to move through the investigative process.
“When it happened in August 2024, she made an outcry, it was investigated. It took some time to gather all the evidence, and then it took some time to go to grand jury, so it did take a little bit of time for the charges come about,” he said.
Parents expressed shock after learning of the arrest.
“I’m glad they did something about it and caught him, but it’s pretty disturbing to hear that somebody who’s working in the school with the kids was capable of doing something like that,” said Josh Duckwitz, a Radnor Elementary School parent.
In a statement, the Radnor Township School District said, “At this time, we have no information indicating misconduct involving district students. Parents of the limited number of children to whom the employee was assigned were contacted by the administration immediately. The employee has been placed on leave and will not have contact with students. At the time of hire, all required background checks were completed.”
The district said it is cooperating fully with law enforcement and offering counseling resources to students as needed.
