MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Pennsylvania (WPVI) — On this St. Patrick’s Day, local senior citizens embarked on a leprechaun-themed trek!

They were educated on health and wellness values, while collecting food items for their rainbow trail mix.

“At each station, they’ll get a different mix-in for their trail mix after they complete an exercise,” said Kelly Slentz, Director of Culinary and Nutrition Services.

This all took place at Acts Gwynedd Estates, a Montgomery County senior living community.

“We want our residents to be well-educated, we want them to make good choices. They’ll get to do the exercises together, so it just helps build the camaraderie in the community,” said Slentz.

” I have just learned that the people that come into this community, they get more active and more robust. Everybody is so fun and so interactive and loving and kind, which is what we are all about. And I just enjoy working with everyone every day,” said Dina Davidson, Fitness Program Manager.
