HARRISBURG, Pa. (WPVI) — Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro is joining a lawsuit that challenges an executive order issued by President Trump earlier this week.

The order calls on the Department of Homeland Security to compile a list of verified U.S. Citizens who are eligible to vote.

It also directs the U.S. Postal Service to take new measures to ensure ballots are sent to eligible voters by placing a barcode on ballot envelopes.

Governor Shapiro calls the order an unconstitutional attack on states’ rights to administer elections.
