PHILLIPSBURG, N.J. (WPVI) — A dump truck fell into a sinkhole while it was on the way to repair it in Warren County, New Jersey.
According to WFMZ-TV, two sinkholes opened up about 20 to 30 feet apart at the intersection of Summit Avenue and Lewis Street in Phillipsburg on Monday afternoon.
Aqua New Jersey officials said the dump truck was delivering asphalt to repair the sinkholes on Tuesday when it ended up falling into it.
The driver suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
A car also fell into the second sinkhole down the street, officials say.
Phillipsburg officials say they have declared a State of Local Emergency to access additional resources and assistance, as repairs are made.
