Small plane makes emergency landing on I‑78 in Lehigh County

WEISENBERG TWP., Pa. (WPVI) — Authorities are investigating why a small plane made an emergency landing on Interstate 78 in Weisenberg Township, Lehigh County.

The incident happened just after 9 a.m. on the eastbound side of I-78 near mile marker 45.

Officials say no injuries have been reported.

I-78 eastbound was shut down between exits 40 and 45 as investigators worked to clear the scene.

There is no word yet on what prompted the emergency landing.

The roadway has since been cleared, but PennDOT urges drivers to expect some residual delays.
