PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (WPVI) — This elevated public space in Philadelphia welcomed community members for a celebration of Lunar New Year.
“It’s for people to gather, for people to…connect with the cultural assets in their neighborhood. It’s really special to be able to put that…front and center in a showcase… like our Lunar New Year festival,” said Executive Director of Friends of The Rail Park, Rebecca Chan.
The Philadelphia Suns, Penn Lions, Ballet Sunmi, and more joined guests for the occasion at The Rail Park.
“Rail Park historically was actually rail lines. So we’re on a viaduct right now. We’re almost a story above ground. Come spring and summer, the park really springs to life and it’s full of just really interesting plants, all native to Pennsylvania,” said Chan.
