PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WPVI) — Three people are in custody, and others remain at large following a major metal theft investigation in Montgomery County, where police say hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of copper wire was stolen from a local business.

Detectives in Plymouth Township said the thefts occurred over several months at the property of a utility contractor along Conshohocken Road.

Surveillance video obtained by Action News shows some of the incidents, including footage of two men rolling a large spool of wire down brick steps and across a parking lot to a waiting vehicle.

“It’s estimated they scrapped almost 15 thousand pounds of material off the property,” said Detective Sgt. Christopher Schwartz of the Plymouth Township Police Department.

Authorities said the investigation remains active, with additional suspects still being sought.

They have an active warrant out for Osiris Jones, 38, and Derrick Rowland, 34, also both from Philadelphia.

“We do have two active warrants. Derrick Rolland is wanted, and Osiris Jones is wanted. We encourage them to turn themselves in at the police department,” Schwartz said.
