Virginia Giuffre‘s loved ones are speaking out after Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly known as Prince Andrew, was arrested in the UK.
“At last,” Virginia’s brothers Sky Roberts and Danny Wilson, as well as their wives Amanda Roberts and Lanette Wilson, shared in a Feb. 19 statement obtained by MS NOW. “Today, our broken hearts have been lifted at the news that no one is above the law, not even royalty.”
Andrew was taken into custody amid ongoing controversy over his alleged connection to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. (He’s denied all allegations of wrongdoing.)
“On behalf of our sister, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, we extend our gratitude to the UK’s Thames Valley Police for their investigation and arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor,” the family of Virginia, who passed away in April, continued. “He was never a prince. For survivors everywhere, Virginia did this for you.”
Police confirmed Feb. 19 that Andrew—whom, along with Epstein, Giuffre had accused of sexual abuse—had been taken into custody on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
